The final decision on the winners will be made by an external, international jury. To ensure impartiality, those involved in the evaluation and selection process during the application phase will not participate in the final decision-making.

Given that the challenges address global issues, the winners will be chosen by an international jury.

The expertise required by the jury will depend on the nature of the solutions proposed by the finalists. Therefore, the final composition of the jury will be confirmed only after the finalist teams have been identified. This approach ensures that the winning solutions are evaluated by the top experts in the relevant fields and maintains the jury’s independence from the finalist teams.

The intention will be to identify 5 distinguished jury members from various geographical regions and with multidisciplinary backgrounds per each challenge, assuming that there will be 55 jury members selected for the Season 1. Each jury member will be compensated for the time and effort. Challenge backers or owners can each nominate one jury member.

Profile of Jury Members:

  • Industry Experts: Professionals with deep expertise in sustainability, technology, and innovation.
  • Investors and Venture Capitalists: Individuals with experience in evaluating startups and understanding market potential and scalability.
  • Academic Leaders: Academics with specialized knowledge in the domains of the challenges.
  • NGO and Government Representatives: Individuals from non-governmental organizations and public sector institutions with a focus on sustainability and ecological issues.
  • Diverse Backgrounds: Ensure the jury has a diverse mix of gender, geography, and industry backgrounds to avoid bias and promote a holistic evaluation.

Role of Jury:

  • Evaluation: Assess the solutions based on predefined criteria, ensuring they are practical, innovative, and have the potential for real-world impact.
  • Selection of Winners: Identify the top solutions and teams based on their performance, innovation, and feasibility.
  • Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to all teams, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
